Canon EOS 1D Mark IV, Canon EF 400mm f2.8 L IS USM, EF 2xII, ISO800, f10, 1/2000, full frame image.
Mangalajodi, part of Chilika lake. Only two of these have visited this year. It seems they will come later as winter is yet to set in.

Nice flight shot.Good details. It would have been nice if there were little more space on the top of the frame & second bird was little more in focus. Thanks for sharing.

Superb capture, Sabyasachi! Loved the exposure and most importantly the moment frozen. Perfect pose presenting full thrust and fine wing details. This is the best moment to capture for bulky birds like Ducks. A bit more space on top can do - if this is full frame then canvas extension is an option. Wish the other bird was in focus too. Would love to capture ducks in this down-thrust motion this season. Thanks for sharing!

Lovely details and sharpness. The pose and eye contact is nice. It is difficult to get a good composition with two or more birds in flight. Agree about the space on top. Look forward to more. Thanks for sharing.

Wow! Lovely image Sabyasachi, the colors and details have come out well. Agree about the space on top, wish the other bird too was in focus.

Actually, I was a bit disappointed when I saw the scene. Only two of these fellows have visited chilika this year (hopefully more will arrive when the winter sets in). The bird on top was on the left and was the first to take flight. The bird at the bottom of the frame was some distance behind this bird and to the right. So when both were on air, they remained at the same position infront of the lens.
Even with f10, due to the bird at bottom of the frame being farther away, it is not covered by depth of field. I agree that, slightly more space at the top would have been good. However, from a wobbling boat, this is what I could manage.
Cheers,
Sabyasachi
