Awesome capture, Praveen! It's no easy to get this guy at all. Superb colors and front angle. Details and positioning are lovely too. Those who have seen it will know it is BIG compared to other kingfishers in the family. Wish a little more head-turn with cleaner BG. Loved it...

I wish you had frontal lighting for this, and a slight head turn towards you, so that both the eyes would have appeared well. Else, a head turn away from you would towards the left of the image would have helped give an idea about its beak. Overall, this is a nice image. The depth of field is good. A vertical would have also worked well. Thanks for sharing.

PS: I think with your penchant for closeups, you should be using a 800mm plus 1.4x. :D

Nice eye contact.The colours on the beak are a standout.would never get to see that with nakedeye.
