The shutter speed was low. Focusing in the night is not easy. In this case the focus seems to be a bit off, and it matters due to the f2.8 aperture which you have used. f2.8 gives a shallow depth of field as compared to f4, f5.6, f8 etc. You could have increased the ISO further.
