If anyone has to contend with the Birds of Paradise of Papua New Guinea, then Asian Paradise Flycatcher would be one of the entrants from India. With their extravagant long tail streamers (males only) and iridescent crest feathers, these are much celebrated visitors from the Flycatcher family. Clicked here is a humble lady paradise.

Clicked in Pune. Spotted her suddenly and hence no time to configure the settings much. EOS 7D, 400mm f/5.6L @ f/6.3, ISO 400, 1/250. C&C most welcome! Let me know if this is is dark for your taste or is ok.

Very Nice bg and Details. The eye contact and pose are nice as well. Agree with you that this is one pretty bird. Been seeing them regularly in hunting parties with babbers and drongos.Yet to catch a decent pic of the adult male.

Nice head turn and eye contact. Sharp and good details. The background compliments the bird. The brightness looks fine. Where was this photographed in Pune (Sinhagad)? Thanks for sharing.

Lovely colours of the bird. I like the eye contact. A little bit brightness would be good. At times one needs to click immediately, else the moment might be gone. Look forward to the male, whenever you get a chance. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,
