It is always good if the bird is flying into the frame or parallel to the photographer. Moving into the frame always scores over subject moving out of the frame. Also, it becomes easier to get the entire bird in focus when it flies parallel to the frame ie from left to right or from right to left.

How many painted storks were there? Thanks for sharing.
