Barbet record shot

I found this in a tea estate. Lighting conditions were tough. Nevertheless clicked a few record shots.

Nice eye contact. I agree the it is quite bright in the background. The textures on the trunk are nice. Thanks for sharing.

Tough lighting. The eye contact looks good. Perhaps including slightly less on the right would have been better. Always a delight to see these birds :)

Nice to see the white cheek at its nest. There is one opposite my balcony on a Coconut Tree. I've seen fights between rose ringed parakeets and the resident barbet pair. They are very agressive towards any intruders. A couple year ago I had chance to look into an abandoned nest it is covered in the inside with very fine powder like material supposed to be the dust of the trunk into which the barbet excavates to the build the nest.This is used to soften the insides of the nest.
