One of the most beautiful of our winter visitors. Nice I got him in the breeding plumage.

Clicked in Pune, EOS 7D, 500mm f/4L+1.4x, handheld, f/8, ISO 400, 1/800, C&C most welcome!

Tushar,
Nice clean background and perch. Wondering if you uploaded an image higher than 300kb as the file doesn't appear sharp. Uploading a large file (larger than 300kb) or longer than 800pixels on the longest side results in the software doing the reduction. Look forward to a sharpened version of this beauty.

Wondering how many species you are able to photograph in Pune.
Cheers,
Sabyasachi

Lovely image Tushar, the head turn and catch-light is nice. Agree with Sabyasachi that image seems a bit soft, pl check the size and repost if possible

Thanks Sabyasachi! I was wondering myself why the images are looking soft. I was processing them 1024x683 and it seems the software was compressing it affecting the quality. I need to reprocess under 800x800.

As a suggestion, can we relax the restriction on the dimension as long as the size is under 300kb? Some of the images don't make an imapct in small dimensions, in my opinion.

Tushar,
We can do it. I had increased the size from 200kb to 300kb as I had felt that it would be better as the files can be saved at higher quality.

The only reason I had not increased the pixels beyond 800 is that I was not sure how many people use higher resolution screens. 1024 is doable. However, I feel 1024 in the vertical may pose difficulty in viewing for people. May be people have to use F11 or full sceen mode to view it.

Let me do it and try and see the effect.

Cheers,
Sabyasachi

Thanks Sabyasachi! I just noticed that allowable dimensions are now changed to 1024 on both sides.
