Bandipur tiger reserve, India.

Elephas maximus. She sprayed water on both sides. The water was being sprayed like a high power motor pump.

Canon EOS 1D Mark IV, Canon EF 400mm f2.8 L IS USM, ISO 400, f9, 1/500, full frame image.

Nice action captured, the water spray has come out well. The light seems a bit harsh

The spray looks nice. Unusual to get the spray like this with the trunk already back in its position. Nice moment captured. These are moments where I really crave a high FPS Camera.
The side lighting looks good.
Since the background is cluttered with a lot of lantana, I was wondering if lowering the lens to avoid that and including the reflection would have been better. Thanks for sharing.

This is a nice image...wish the reflection was captured fully:)

Also, the subject looks slightly overexposed on my screen!

Composing in this manner was a difficult decision. I have no love for the exotic weeds - lantana in the background. However, the reflection was ok till till the legs. Beyond that the reflection was broken. Completely cutting off the reflection would have taken away the context of the water spray. So I felt including partial reflection would be better.

Having said that, I could have used a 1.4x and it would have worked well here.

The highlights are pulled up a bit to bring in attention to the water spray.
