Kestrel Season

Common Kestrel, Bikaner, Rajasthan; Dec 2010.

Well its seems to be Kestrel season!! got this fellow sitting on a tree stump - as most trees in the region seem to be - stripped of branches repeatedly every year, likely for firewood.

Awesome capture, Amit! Nice details and light. Wish the kestrel was looking straight at you. In my opinion, the image is bit soft and can take a dose of sharpening and highlight toning down.

Sad abt stripping of the branches but it has left a good perch :) Though that doesn't support the activity in any case.

I liked the composition. The perch and the eye contact is nice. The catchlight looks good. Do check if you uploaded a image more than 300kb, as the software automatically resizes and there is loss in quality. Thanks for sharing.
