Did you place it or is it untouched? Why f7.1?

It was not placed there. It was natural. I tried the same scene at different DOFs. f/1.8 ranging to f/13. In f/13 the background was obviously much more in focus however the snail didnt stand out as much. Hence, I chose the intermediate aperture image to post.

Nice perspective. The low angle enhances the image. I feel using f7.1 is good, as the details are nicely visible and the waves in the background sufficiently out of focus. Thinking placing it more to the left with more space on the right would enhance the composition further. Thanks for sharing.

It would be interesting exploring other angles taking into consideration the light and the shoreline.

this is a novel perspective..good image too:) I wonder how the image clicked at f4 or f5.6 looks? Is the bokeh better than what it is in this image? tfs

It seems you have missed focus on the f1.8 and f2.8. At those apertures, the depth of field is pretty less and one needs very precise focusing. Look forward to some shallow dof experiments.
