Finally Canon announced an upgradation to its popular EOS 1000D Digital SLR in form of Canon EOS 1100 D camera. The EOS 1000D was a very successful entry level model and was there for about two and half years.

The 1100D has the following features:
Sensor: APSC (1.6 crop), 12MP
Auto Focus: Nine point AF with one f5.6 cross type sensor at the centre.
ISO resolution: 100-6400,
High definition video: 720p and HDMI video output
Viewfinder; 2.7 inch
Burst speed: 3 fps for 4-5 large/fine JPEGs. In case of RAWs one can shoot 2 raws in one burst.

The rest all are largely unchanged.

Cheers,
Sabyasachi

I hve been using the 1000D for some time now and the specs for the 1100D dont give me enough reason for an upgrade but for the included Video and ISO range. The burst speed is still woefully low and it still has just one cross type AF sensor. maybe this would take the place of the new SLR upgrade camera for ppl willing to move out of the PnS bracket. Not an upgrade from a 1000D for sure.

The LCD screens seems like a huge let down at 2.7" and 230,000.
