This is from my files. I have some backlog pending for processing. I have created this image in Kabini. I was trying slow shutter speed to create a pleasing blur. This was among the better ones after wasting many frames.

Canon EOS 1D Mark II, Canon EF 400mm f2.8 L IS USM, EF 2xII, f5.6, 1/25, full frame image.

Nice frame. I believe the texture will come out even better in B/W and slightly more pumped up contrast. Thanks for sharing.

Cute. I liked the eye contact. The low shutter speed gives a different feel to the image. The details on the trunk are nice. Wish the elephant in the background was not present. Thanks for sharing.

Nice image sir.

Can this be called panning (as not much of the Bg is visible) ??? and in such shots does the trick lie in getting the head and eye stable and in focus with the limbs, wings etc depicting motion ?

Roopak,
The background is not visible because I have done a tight framing. Also, I was deliberately trying the slow shutter speed to indicate motion. One has to be very careful in getting the eye and head relatively sharp. Else it will appear that there was a sudden movement and you were not prepared in terms of correct shutter speed and technique.
