nice view. but the image seems a bit soft. At 1/640 it should have come out sharper? any PP problems?

Yes Good image, I think you could have sharpen it more in PP, also there are darkers areas near front side of wings.
Love the angle and space in right side.

Bibhav,
1/640 is not enough for Pelicans. 1/800 will barely give you sharp in the wing tips. Clicking at 1/1600 to 1/2000 gives the best.

In this case the wing tips are closer to you, and is not covered by the small depth of field.

A slight sharpening would be good. I find it tough to shoot pelicans. As the eye appears so small in the frame that even though it is sharp in the eye, you get the impression of a soft image.

In the EOS 350D, I won't advise moving beyond the ISO 100. At best ISO 200. Shifting to ISO 400 in this situation would have been good.

Cheers,
Sabyasachi

Thanks, Sabyasachi for working on the image and uploading it.

I didnt have the original file with me now, so was not able to do the sharpening. I saw this shot in my laptop and uploaded it, so didnt see the processing, as I had done it long time back.

Will keep in mind the shutter speed details while shooting pelicans in flight.
