This was at Masinagudi

Apparently badly mauled on the underside, an opening through which some of the organs - possibly intestines were bulging out and bleeding as well. Could not get any closer, for we were on a trek and hiding behind a rock and the guide warned us that this particular one has been extremely aggressive of late - possibly due to the wounds.

Must have had a fight with another bull.... those horns can do tremendous damage!

Yup, a bull it had to be, for there were no other Tiger (the only other animal which dares to take on a full grown gaur) scratch or bite marks on the body.

Nice shot. The skin texture has come good. Are the eyes glowing? do you have to do some correction for that?

With such big wounds, it might be hard for the animal to survive long.

I agree. It is likely to be from another Gaur, since there have been no reports of Musth elephant on rampage. And in case of elephant the marks are likely to be higher.

The glowing eyes is due to flash.
