This sighting was during the morning safari. There was a lot of light, but not too conducive for photograhy!
f5, ISO 320, SS 1/640sec, focal length 180mm, EV -1

canon 60D
canon 100-400L IS f4.5-5.6

Would love to hear from all of you, how better I could have done here. Honestly, the image quality isn't satisfying:(

Bhargava,
Lucky guy. Nice behaviour captured. Did you watch it from the beginning to end?

Is it full frame or cropped? If cropped, did you have lot of area brightly lit? Again why did you select only 180mm?

Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,

Nice natural history moment captured. The light is very tricky. They are in shade and the foreground light seems quite harsh. Zooming in more, to include less of the background would have been good. You could have also safely increased the ISO to 400, for a higher shutter speed to get more details. Look forward to more from the series. Thanks for sharing.

The image is full-frame. We were driving out of the park, almost relaxed after a tiger sighting in the same safari. Then, I realised there were these dogs lying on the side of the track...everyone else failed to see them! So, we weren't prepared..I just started clicking without changing any settings and not zooming in..we observed this for less than a minute...the dogs then rushed into the bushes, where I believe the actual mating took place!
