I was shooting in manual mode and forgot about the f stop. By the time I realised that the f was high, the bird had flown away :(

You got the face clear. Wish the light had fallen on the face. You need to work on the white balance again as there is a greenish yellow cast in the image. Thanks for sharing.

True, the greenish yellow cast is there. Need to work on the WB. Thanks for the comments.
