Coppersmith barbet from my trip to Bandipur..
Canon 1ds mark2 with 100-400.

Nice to see it with a catch. The eye contact is nice. Presently the bark dominates the major part of the frame than the bird, so I would have composed with a rectangular framing adding more space from the top to the bottom (under the bird). The colours are nice. Thanks for sharing.

Nice shot, agree with Mrudul. Another way to try a compo is to rotate the image to get a vertical compo, it may work well

Sachin,
The thick border distracts during image critiquing. It would be better if you upload images without borders. Border works better in prints.

The tree trunk dominates in this image. I agree with Praveen about the vertical composition. Composition is supposed to be a deliberate and careful choice. In this case, the square composition apart from bringing in more focus on the tree trunk, doesn't add much to the image.

With less of space at the bottom, the barbet appears to be squeezed inbetween.

Exposure wise, you should have dialled in a positive exposure compensation so that the barbet would have been exposed better (brighter and more details).

Reducing the saturation and contrast will enhance the image.
