Wonderful focus. You seem to have gotten pretty close to the bird.

You got the eye very sharp, and in perfect focus. However, I notice that the body is not in good focus..f6.3 might be the reason. Was it deliberate? If not, using f8 or so would have ensured that you got the body better....because I see that the shutter speed was fine, so f8 would have also given you sufficient shutter speed:)

Lovely eye contact. The colours look nice. I agree with Bhargava, a narrower aperture would have been good. Thanks for sharing.

Not knowing how far the subject was and the amount of crop, it is difficult to predict the depth of field. However, From this pose it is difficult to get the eye as well as the tail in focus as the depth of field wont be sufficient. That is one of the main reasons for trying to approach the bird in such a manner that the body of the bird is parallel to the sensor plane. The head being say about two inches, a slight head turn is manageable in terms of depth of field. However, covering the entire body in depth of field is tough from this position.

Hi all,
I have some other images shot at f/8 and f/11 in which entire body is in focus. Will post them later. This is just for a diffrent pose.
