Sighted a common kingfisher at lotus pond yesterday evening, after about 6 months into birding! This one might be a commoner in all other parts of the country, but in Hyderabad- to all the locations I have been, saw tens of white-breasted KFs and even many pied KF's but never a common kingfisher! Hence, the uncommon king:)

Moving to the right would have given me a full green BG, but that act would have only ensured that I fell into the deep waters:)

How much cropped is it? There is significant loss of details.Opening up shadows a bit would be good.Any particular reason for EV -0.3?TFS

Surprised to know that in Hyderabad there are less common Kingfishers. The eye contact is nice. A slight more head turn towards you would have enhanced the eye contact further. Wish it was perched on a natural perch. Reducing the sharpness a bit would be good. Thanks for sharing.

Looks like sharpening is a little on the higher side.....opening up the shadows will also help.
