Here comes another image of the female purple sunbird calling :)
The BG is a white wall, which got washed out because of the positive EV:( couldn't avoid it!

f5.6, 1/620sec, EV +0.7, 400mm, ISO 200.

The head turn and eye contact is nice. The calling pose adds interest. I think there is some loss of details, is this a crop? If the Sunbird frequents this place, you can cover yourself with a green cloth and sit close to it, so you can get a good closeup without having to crop. You could also have tried using a higher ISO like ISO 400. Thanks for sharing.

The calling pose is nice, there loss of details, agree with comments made by Mrudul. Bhargava you can buy camouflaged hides if you really want to go closer and shoot.

Nice composition. A bit of noise is visible. Let the wall get blown. In fact, moving to the right to get a uniform white BG would have been better. The dividing line, where the white wall ends and a cream one starts, is distracting.
P.S. Is it not a male in eclipse plumage?
TFS.

If this is the original capture without pulling up the shadows and fill light, then you needed a still more positive EV and a higher contrast. Nice calling pose. Agree that you have a nice chance to create some great images as these birds are in your backyard.

This is not the original...had to edit quite a bit to get this far:( In fact, the bird was in complete shade and I was in the hot sun...was very difficult to get a decent shot:( Also, this place is not my backyard- its a good one hour from my home!

Cheers
