Was a very interesting sight this. We were only 5 minutes into the safari when I saw the silhouette of a pair of birds, perched on top of a dry tree. After going closer, I realised they were yellow-footed green pegions. I started shooting them and suddenly, the male flew on top:tongue_smilie: of the female and the mating started! made a few images of the actual mating procedure..will share them all soon:)

Good that you saw them mating. Wish the intervening branch was not there. I hope you recorded the entire process.

Cheers,

Wow nice you could photograph them mating. It is good you got the eyes in the clear. The high shutter speed has helped. Look forward to more in the series. Thanks for sharing.

Nice shot. It is good that their faces are in the clear. How come the sky looks duller outside the branches framing the birds???

It is a good practice to mention about the processing if it goes beyond the standard levels and curves. It is not fair on others who don't employ extensive digital manipulations as well as to beginners who may curse themselves as to why their images don't look like that of the digital technicians.

It certainly is so, Sabyasachi. But I can tell wht has been done if I know what procedures can enhance an image! All I know is to play with brightness/contrast, levels, curves, add sharpness, crop, resize:) If i knew cloning or using the spot healing tools, I would have happily removed several twigs from the image:)
