Bandhavgarh tiger reserve, India

Canon EOS 1D Mark IV, Canon EF 400mm f2.8 L IS USM, EF 2xII ie. 800mm, ISO 1250, f6.3, 1/800mm, EV: +1/3, full frame image.

This jungle cat came quiet close and it became difficult for me as I was clicking at 800mm. Later on shifted to my 70-200. I purposefully dialled in a +1/3 exposure compensation to bring out more details and burn the background.

Cheers,

Sabyasachi - I guess this is shot in B'garh:confused:, you have mentioned Bandipur:laugh:. Lovely sighting this, the jungle cat in open looks good, the details have come out well. Ideally more space all around would have been good.
Somehow I liked the previous image than this.

Praveen,
It was photographed in bandhavgarh. Brain failure. :( Correcting the original post.

Nice pose and details sir.this is rare. Seen a lot of adult jungle cat. Was the parent around?? Hybrids with housescats have been known to occur which are smaller in size and less shy. This certainly looks like a jungle cat kitten. waiting for more...

Nice details and eye contact. I agree it was quite close for you in 800mm. Some more space at the left would have enhanced the image further. The dry leaves give a nice feel of the habitat. Thanks for sharing.
