A vertical would have been better, light seems low. Nevertheless always a treat to watch Parakeets and photograph them.

Nice perch and eye contact. The composition is fine, a vertical would also have looked nice. Agree about the light. You could have increased the ISO. Thanks for sharing.

Agree with the previous comments. A positive exposure compensation would have been better. When a bird is against the bright sky and is small in the frame, the meter reading of the camera is based on the dominant sky. So the subject gets underexposed. Better to give a positive exposure compensation and check the histogram. That will give you a correct idea about exposure.

Agree with the others. A positive EC would have brought out more details. Losing shutter speed won't be much of a problem with these birds.
