Shot this in Shamirpet this weekend while birding with Bhargava , these birds were pretty relaxed and let us close in on them. We were shooting at a distance of only 6-8 feet away. Was a pretty pleasant experience and the place deserves many more visits (probably with a hide). This particular frame was shot while we were walking back to the car.

I believe that one must spend ample amount of time around birds and get them acquainted with you before you start shooting them candidly. Taking a leaf out of my 1st image discussion with the members here and Sabyasachi I have left this image untouched except for cloning out the other 2 sides of the fence and only hope to get all the techniques correct for minimum post processing in the days to come.

Please let me know if the techniques worked.

The Bg looks good...how about lesser space on the top and slightly more at the bottom?

And will be great if u can write the procedure for cloning..will be worth learning even though I have my reservations on using it:)

Nice head turn and eye contact. I agree with Bhargava about the negative space at the top. You could have composed by adding a bit more space at the bottom. Getting it a bit bigger in the frame would have helped to remove the extra space. I agree hide is quite useful while birding. You could also very slowly move towards the bird, taking care it doesn't fly off (generally crawling :)).

It is good that you have mentioned about the cloning done. At IndiaWilds will advise against cloning as that reduces our creativeness as a photographer and adds the designer part in that. Try to experiment in the field and get the best possible composition excluding the distractions as much as possible. Thanks for sharing.

Nice shot, agree with comments made by Mrudul. You can even try a vertical if space available at bottom.

It is good that you could move closer. Probably this composition was meant to reduce the wire at the bottom.

I have seen lot of people get into cloning and other digital manipulations and stagnate in their photography. Focus on the aspect you think is the most important.
