Seems like a juvenile to me..

Apart from the usual brightness/contrast, levels/curves and adding sharpness, selected the sky and reduced the exposure a bit..

f7.1, 1/800sec, ISO 400, EV +1, 400mm

canon 60D, canon 100-400 L IS

Wish you were closer. The bird looks a little too small in the frame to me. A slightly higher positive EC would have been better, but that would bring down your shutter speed. Was f7.1 necessary? Not sure, but i think 5.6 or 6.0 would have sufficed?

I agree with Abhishek, moving closer would have helped to get the bird bigger in the frame and also reduce the bright background. These birds are very swift and fly off, so probably using hide and sitting close by would help. A slight +ve exposure would be good. Thanks for sharing.

Lovely image Bhargava, agree with comments made. A vertical will look even better
