Vertical composition would have been good.Bright patches in the BG is distracting.I would have gone for less sharpening.TFS

Nice perch and eye contact. I agree a vertical composition would have been good. Wish it was a bit closer. Thanks for sharing.

I agree that normally a vertical composition looks better. However, that will make the bird even smaller in the frame. Wish you had got it in golden sunlight. A narrow aperture would have been great, but since you were already in ISO 800 that was not possible.
