Since my new bound work life @ Baramati I have always been spotting this bird around the outskirts near the Canal or some small lake areas. All the time either I would be w/o camera or this bird would be too far away from me.
Finally today morning I spotted this while on a morning expedition and finally could capture it...unfortunately the light was from the back of it due to which I had to overexpose to capture atleast some of the details.
Hope to get a better view in coming days

Quite difficult conditions to photograph. The open perch and the eye contact is nice. You could have tried a slight narrower aperture. Wish you get it in better light next time. Thanks for sharing.

Tough to shoot these birds. I still remember when I had crept in close to one such fellow and clicked full frame with a 300mm lens. That was long back in the slide days. Find a regular perch of this bird and then with some patience it can be easier to photograph.

Shooting against the light gives rise to purple fringing. Wish you were closer. Keep on trying.

Cheers,
