camera body : Nikon D-90
camera lens : Nikon 500mm /f-4

This 4 year young tiger was resting for a long while in the bush due to the heat of 42 degrees. After a while it got up and crossed the safari track-road barely 15 feet away. With the 500mm lens all i could get was the face.

Looks like you were too close for the 500mm to handle this, resulting in a very tight frame. There seems to be some motion blur. The ear portion looks comparatively sharp. Please post the EXIFs (shutter speed, aperture, ISO) and post processing changes made, so that we can critique the image better.
TFS.

Tough situation as you were close. Moving the camera to the right to just frame the tiger's head would have been better. Trying a vertical composition would have been good as well. Lowering the colour temperature during post processing will strengthen the image. Thanks for sharing.

The eye contact is nice. Agree with the above comments. It can be a bit tough with a fixed focal length lens. Do post the EXIF details. Look forward to more from Bandhavgarh. Thanks for sharing.

Lovely sighting, agree about the motion blur, also the whites have blown. Ideally you should have kept the smaller lens handy. You will need to redo the PP:) - today's home work:laugh:

Agree about motion blur. In places like bandhavgarh, you will be able to have the vehicle for yourself...so putting a monopod to use will be good:) Otherwise, a nice tiger and a nice sighting:)
