This was photographed in Bandhavgarh. It was really a nice moment to have one tiger sitting on the left (the mirchani female cub) in the open and the male cub on the right. He came and sat behind the grass, very close to our gypsy watching us. He was so close, that it was difficult for me to photograph with my 100-400mm, I could only manage to take his closeups.

Canon 50D, 100-400mm L IS USM, ISO 400, f6.3, 1/50, hand held, full frame.

Comments and critiques welcome..

Nice feel to the image...I remember a similar image from Sabyasachi. May be more sharpness will be good:)

Wow! Lovely sighting this, the eyes have come well. Having heard that nothing much can be done at B'garh due to too my jeeps in Q. I am sure this the best you could have achieved. Good to see that these sub adults are quite healthy.

Nice portrait. There seems to be some shake (not unexpected when shooting hand held at 1/50). What was the focal length?

Cute fellow. It is good that you got the eyes without much of obstructions by the bamboo shoots. I think this tiger had changed position twice. There were a number of jeeps and it was tough to shoot without falling from the vehicle. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,
