Have been hearing to some sharp whistling sound for the past one week around the office, I had tried my level best to locate the source(i.e. the bird). Today noon spotted this beauty sitting outside my office window...unfortunately wasn't equipped with my camera so used my dept's old point and shoot camera to capture it. I couldn't identify the species of it.

Looks to me like an Ashy Prinia. A side profile will help to identify more accurately.

Well It surely is not an Ashy Prinia..this bird would be almost 5-7 time bigger than it...

Definitely looks like a cuckoo to me. Can't say which species to be exact. How big was it (rough idea)? A prinia wouldn't have such a broad tail in any case.

I am more inclined towards a cuckoo...

From the back it looks like a COMMON HAWK CUCKOO ( Hierococcyx Varius) if the call is shrill and repetitive " Pee pee ah" ( Brain Fever). The upper part is ashy grey. The tail is broad and grey/black barred.IF the call resembles like this ,then I have no doubt.
