A striped-neck mongoose shot at bandipur. This guy had no inhibitions what-so-ever, in showig off his acclaimed striped-neck:)

I have always found these guys as difficult subject for photography. Unfortunately this shot doesn't work for me. Light looks harsh, there is a hint of shake in his eyes, angle of view is not ideal. I know its challenging to get good shot of this guy in a safari but still sharing my views, hope you wont take it otherwise.

Its good you could sight it in the open. I think a higher shutter speed would have been good to get more details. I think a rectangular framing would have looked better than the present square composition. Thanks for sharing.

Where was the focus point? Was it before the mongoose? There seems to be an abrupt drop in depth of field after the mongoose and the background is blurred. Even though you had used f8. Wish you had it close.

Cheers,

As mentioned by the fellow members the guys are not easy to photograph, I fully agree with the comments. However you will have more opportunities to click this guy so keep these notes handy.
