Taken at ranhambore national park, F8, 1/500s, Auto WB, ISO 300, AV priority.
Camera EOS 7D, 100-400 L lens @ 400 mm, during evening Safari, Hand Held. no sharpening except little croping.

Ranthambore is the place one should visit twice a year. Lots of tiger and lots of birds.

Light was low. However, is this a big crop? The image appears dark. If you have time in the field, then check the viewfinder and dial in positive exposure compensation as required. The Digital SLRs have made this much easier as opposed to the days when we had to wait for the negative or slides to come back from processing.

A loose crop would strengthen the image, as this appears a bit tight. Moving a little bit to the left, if possible would have strengthened the image as the eye contact would have been better. The saliva in the beak looks nice. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,

The eye contact is nice. The calling pose looks good. Some more space all around would be good. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, the image is dark. Agree with comments made. You should probably check the images you made and re adjust the EV to expose properly whenever the sighting is for a good amount of time. Also, you may try the exposure bracketing feature till you get accustomed with the setting so as to shoot at three diff exposures simultaneously:)
