The weather not holding up well, resulting in lesser predator movement in the open comes as a blessing to these guys.
This stag looked extremely relaxed and wouldn't even consider getting up from his seat though we went in a little too close for his comfort!

Nice composition. I think the whites on the ear are burnt(?) The greens in the BG look nice. Wondering whether a slightly lower focal length would have suited this better, as that would have allowed more space around the antlers, and also included the pond/salt lick completely.

I agree with Abhishek regarding a bit more space around the stag. You never know when predator movement will happen. If the wind is constantly blowing from one direction then it becomes easier for the predator to move from downwind. You never know when the predator movement will happen.

Is the stag resting on a slope? Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the comments.

Sabyasachi,

This one was resting on a slightly elevated ground near the backwaters.

Nice image. The eye contact and the details look nice. Agree a wider composition would be good. You could have used a lower ISO, as a slight less shutter speed would have sufficed in this case, thus reducing the noise in the background. Thanks for sharing.
