Knob billed duck

Also known as Comb Duck.This is a male one,spotted in outskirts of Gwalior.It was about 50 metres from me,and no way to go closer as paddy field was full of water.Moreover Light was not good due to overcast sky.This one is more of a record shot of this species.

Good record. I had clicked one last year in bharatpur. It is tough to get sharp image if the subject is far off. Apart from the haze etc which degrades the image, it is also difficult to AF, as the auto focus point occupies a large area.

It is important to click record images as well, as that will help in establishing the change in landuse, impact on migration etc.
