At the same location as the Oriental White Eye (Stanmore Estate, Valparai) in fact a couple of moments before the OWE appeared

Nice eye contact. The colours are striking. Slight less space at the bottom and right would be good. Thanks for sharing.

Agree with Mrudul's comments. I would also like more space to the left and less to the right. Have you ID'ed it? I think it is a male Loten's Sunbird in eclipse plumage (?)

Rajan Bhai, Is there any other photograph? Finding difficulty(but eager to know) in identifying the exact species of this Sunbird, an eclipse Male with olive-grey upper parts. SaktiWild

Thanks Abhishek and Sakthipada
I knew it was a Sun Bird, but never got around to the exact species . . . . yes, do have another one, but the green spot on the BG kind of shifts attention away . . . . anyways, see if this one helps to ID . . .

It's definitely a male sunbird in eclipse plumage. I'm inclined towards Loten's because of the strong beak curvature... still a bit confused though.

It is Loten's or Longbilled Sunbird (Eclipse Male), Cinnyris lotenious(formerlly placed under Genus nectarinia).I agree with Abhishek after looking at both the photographs.I have depended more on Blue Central Streak than yellow grey upper parts. Thanks to Rajan. Thanks for sharing.SaktiWild
