Cute fellow. How come you got him alone? Seems the light was quite bad. A higher shutter speed would have been good. You should have increased the ISO to 800. Some more details would have been good. Thanks for sharing.

One needs to watch the two noticeably moving parts - trunk and ears - while clicking. When there is a momentary stop of these two parts, one needs to click. Watching for a few minutes will give you an idea. That way you can get away with even with a slower shutter speed.

Thanks Mrudul. We didn't get him alone..his mother was right behind him but was too close for me to even try and include both the elephants while shooting at 100mm! I happened to shoot a few images at ISO 800 and EV -0.3, with a shutter speed of 1/200sec, but I happen to like this one better because of the slight shake at the leg of the ele (a wierd choice I guess).

Thanks Sabyasachi. That trick will surely help :) However, in this case, the elephant kept running along with the jeep- this image was made when both the jeep and elephant were moving!
