Nice composition. The detials have come out well. Did you also shoot without the 2x TC at the shortest end? Also, was there a moment when both tigers looked towards you?

The tigers were in a clump of bamboos. So it was difficult to get a clear view and hence a further wider composition was not easy. And I didn't get any composition where they were looking towards me.

Also, once I mount the 2x II TC, I normally don't take it off as there are chances of missing action as well as getting dust into the sensor. If there is no action, then I do change TCs. However, with the f2.8 aperture of the 70-200 IS II lens, one gets f5.6 as the widest opening with the 2x TC mounted. You lose the advantage of the extra two stops of light over the 100-400 lens, but it is all about flexibility. Also with only 200mm with the 1.3 factor of my camera, the reach becomes limited. It becomes 91-260mm. With your 1.6 crop factor camera, it becomes 112-320mm. Unless the subject is very close to me or I am creating environment portraits, I won't be using the the bare 70-200 mm without TC.

I would have loved this image more, if the light falling on the shoulder and paw of the cub would have fallen on the head area. That would have lifted the image by a few notches.

Nice moment captured Sir. Time and again you have shown us how waiting for moments like this and capturing them is a skill in itself and probably comes only with patience and experience. Instead most wud be tempted to test the upper limits of the fps and the card capacity instead of waiting... :001_smile:
Agree that if the Light was on the cubs face this wud have been even better.
