Nice find. Is that nesting material or a worm in the bird's beak? Nice that you got it in the open without any distracting branches. Wish you had managed to avoid the sky in the extreme right of the frame..but it looks good as is too. Could you have tried a slightly narrower aperture as the shutter speed is quite low?

Nice moment captured. Looks like it has some nesting material in its beak. I think higher shutter speed would have helped in this case. Was this shot at 500mm focal length? If so, then 1/60 shutter speed at 500mm focal length and handheld is really tough. Having said that I feel you have done a great job to pull this one off. TFS

It is holding a nesting material. If it is a worm, then definitely it has to be a new species. (Where is Abhishek? :D :D )

The 150-500 lens has a widest aperture of f6.3 at 500mm. One stop slower gives better sharpness. Here the lens is stopped down 2/3rd of a stop. Even at f6.3 the shutter speed is not going to improve significantly. So f8 is fine here. Looks like the focus has latched on to the tree bark, but due to the f8 aperture the bird is covered. Eye contact is fine. Did you have more of sky in the original capture?

Nice to see this bird. It is quite difficult to get it in the open. The textures on the bark look nice. Agree with the above comments. Thanks for sharing.

Yes Sabyasachi, little bit of sky have been cropped out(about 10 pc of the image).Another reason for f/8 was to get better focus of tree bark. Thanks
