I am Gopal Nayar.

I am settled in Bangalore and spend some of my spare time going out birding and photographing birds.

Really feel honored to join this group.

It was Bhargava who introduced me to this site. At first I thought this must be yet another nature photography group. But the contributions of the members of this group in the forums make it really unique. All credit goes to Sabyasachi Patra and all the members in the group.

Hi Gopal,

Welcome to IndiaWilds!

The prime motive of this forum is Conservation. I find Wildlife photographers blinded by the need to get the shot at any cost. Hope to educate them to start thinking about the welfare of the subject. Wildlife photographers due to the time spent in the field can help a lot in documenting wilderness areas which are taken over by large infrastructure projects due to lack of documentation.

Also, another aspect of this forums is critiquing images as well as discussing the natural history aspect. Knowledge of animal behaviour helps in improving the quality of the images. Hope our images can motivate people to save the wilderness areas and wildlife.

Good to see your image so that we can "id" you in the field. :-)

Thank you Sabyasachi, Mrudul and Bhargava.

That is exactly what Bhargava told and it is great to see how active the members are in conservation related activities.

When I met Bhargava, it was about 4 yrs back. Attaching an image of him as a small boy with his father taken on top of Gopalaswamybetta. I hope you don't mind Bhargava.

Thanks Gopal!

Wow! Nice to see this kid's photo. Quietly standing besides dad and trying to given an impression of an obedient kid.

The prime reason for launching IndiaWilds is conservation. I am hopeful that wildlife photographers become aware of the conservation challenges.
