Its great that you got to watch this moment. What focal length did you use? Slightly wider composition would have been even better. Good that you got it in the clear. Thanks for sharing.

Nice moment captured bhargava, and it is good that you got a side on view. You have done well for the low light . I did get to shoot a similar scene at Br hills sometime ago. It was head on and I totally messed up the settings and over exposed the images... still don't know what to do with them....

Nice tender moment captured. It is good you got them parallel to the sensor. You have captured it nicely even at 1/50. Thanks for sharing.

Roopak,
You might want to send those underexposed pics to Praveen Siddannavar, now that we know how well he can recover underexposed pictures :D

Sabyasachi,
This was at 300mm. I too would like a wider perspective, but unfortunately, there was another jeep between us and the gaur, and at anything lower than 285mm, that jeep was appearing in the foreground :(

There is no rocket science involved. You can check the tutorial here: Indiawilds: Land of the Tiger. Conservation, Wildlife Photography, Communities (http://indiawilds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2287)
Having said that, if the image is overexposed and the highlights burnt, then you have lost the details forever. If the highlights are not burnt, then you can definitely get the details out. You can post a sample, as is picture, and then we will know the possibilities.

A tender moment this Bhargava, a treat to watch the mother and calf. The details have come out well despite low light. Very well done!
