We were blessed to observe the behavior of this pair during my trip to bandipur in may 2011. It was early evening when I spotted one pegion perched on top of a dry tree and asked our driver to stop the jeep. Seconds later, another bird flew to the same perch and sat beside the first bird. I then started clicking and realised that I needed to change the settings. In that time, the male offered some food (?) to the female, which the female accepted. Immediately, the male mounted itself on the female, and the mating happened :)
