Please confirm the id as I was getting confused because of the black ring on its neck. Photographed at Maidanahalli.
A lesser ISO would have been good, but I forgot to change the settings as I trying to photograph the black bucks.
Canon 50D, 100-400mm L IS USM, ISO 640, f8.0, 1/2000, hand held

It does look like the collared dove. Was it shot from a vehicle? I like the details you got on the bird, but wish there was more light falling on the eye for you to get better exposure.

Beautiful image which is sharp as well.Looks wonderful eventhough its not a big closeup shot.

Its Eurasian Collared Dove [We call it Kanthi Ghughu].The Black half-collar on its nape from which it derives he Name is distinct and bluish-grey(looking faint ) lower back is also visible.Its a very nice bird seen the Morning and quite common here. Nice image. The eye contact is good. The catchlight in the eye has come out well. It would be nice to document the names in various languages.
