Nice perch & eye contact. It is always challenging doing photography with film cameras. One need to wait for the film to be developed to see the results ,on the contrary to present days DSLrs ,where image can be checked immediately and making the necessary adjustment in the next snaps. One needs to have good photographic skills and knowledge for film SLR photography.TFS

Pamela C. Rasmussen and John C. Anderton in their book Birds of South Asia The Ripley Guide has mentioned this as Coracias benghalensis affinis.

"Larger NE affinis is much darker, with unstreaked smoky purplish-brown face and breast, slightly paler throat with obscure blue streaks, dull brownish (not blue) upper belly, and more dark blue in wings than turquoise; tail has more turquoise (like European) with small dark blue corner that can wear off. In flight, dark blue wing-lining."

They have mentioned the size of the NE species affinis as >31cm and the nominate species Coracias benghalensis as <31 cm.
