This composition looks better than the horizontal posted earlier. Could you please check by using the zoom browser software, where the focus point is? Also, seeing the high shutter speed, you could have stopped down to f8 or so comfortably to get better details :)

Agree with Bhargava, a narrower aperture would have been good. A slight off-centered composition would have been good.

Thanks for the feedback Mrudul. It was shot using Canon EOS 1100 D with a 55-250mm IS lens.

Naveen, looks like the focus point is on the body of the bird. 55-250mm lens provides better IQ within the range of f8 to f13, f11 being the sweet spot. If good light is available stepping down to f8 or so would help, in addition you will get more depth of field and hence more details.
