Agree with Dr Kalpamoi. This is scaly breasted munia or the spotted munia. I like composition but would have been nicer if the bird was more parallel to the sensor plane or at least there was more head turn with better eye contact.

Thanks guys. Bhargava, even I wished the same. As these birds move quickly, for this particular image it moved and was not parallel to the sensor. Did get some images with better eye contact.

The mid-air position of the grain looks nice. Agree about the eye contact. You could have tried moving a bit more to the right. The composition is nice. The clean background adds to the image. Nicely captured. Thanks for sharing.

Your timing is right. I agree with the previous comments. A narrow aperture like f8 would have been better here. Probably pushing the ISO higher would have helped, though you would have got more noise.
