A chrysalis (pupa) of a Common Crow butterfly (Euploea core). Approx. 2cm long. Found this on an Oleander plant (Nerium oleander?).
It was tough to get a clear shot through the leaves... there are some OOF distractions, but this was the best I could manage.
Canon 500D, Canon 100mm Macro USM
Manual Exposure
Tv 1/160
Av 6.3
ISO 800
White balance- Shade preset (7000K)
Full-frame (Was thinking of cropping from the left and bottom, but wasn't sure)
No PP done
Thanks, C&C awaited

I am fine with the present composition. The details are nice. It looks quite shiny. Do you know what are the brown lines on it? You captured nicely in the given conditions. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Mrudul,
The chrysalis is metallic gold in colour, and at first it appears like a piece of plastic decoration on the plant :). I am not sure what the brown lines are, they appeared only during the later stages of the pupa, they were not clearly visible at first. So I suppose they appear due to the growth of the pupa in size.

Very well captured and documented Abhishek. Cropping would make the frame tight. it looks good the way it is. TFS

Abhishek,
This is a nice one. Well done. I think slightly less space at the top would make this even better. Thanks for sharing.

Wow! Had never seen this before. The chrome look is fabulous. have a feeling that placing the subject slightly more to the right would be nicer.
