I have seen both adult as well as adolescent tigers eating grass. Wish you had got the face visible. Moving to the right without disturbing the tiger would have been great. Thanks for sharing.

I too had seen a tiger eating grass in bandipur. I think it was in 2009. We had sighted Agasthya, then dominant male of bandipur and were following him as he marked his territory. All of a sudden, he walked to a plant and starting tearing out leaves from it. He then sat down and took to eating them!

Nice behavior documented. The shutter speed was very less. You could have safely increased it to 200 or 400 to get more shutter speed to get more details and sharpness. Do check the AF point. Thanks for sharing.

Most carnivores eat grass once in a while- it acts as a cleanser of the digestive system, some times they eat grass and other available plants and vomit out the contents of their stomachs. It is nature's treatment for indigestion and other similar stomach ailments!
