It has been while since I have posted after the hectic travel to Brazil, I decided I will start my account with the Tiger image. The is from the same series where accidentally my dial knob from Av turned to Tv mode. However I have managed to recover the image to the best possible.

Camera - Canon EOS 7D, 500mm lens
Av 4
Tv 1/8000
ISO 800
Focal length 500mm
Cropped for Vertical composition
Bean Bag Support
Date and Time : 30th July'11 @ 7:57am

Welcome back :). Nice portrait. The details are nice. The wild flowers at the bottom add to the image. Nice composition. So any trips to Bandipur after your Brazil trip? Thanks for sharing.

Praveen,
I think you should go for the 1 Series. No dials and hence no chance of accidental changing from Av to Tv. I had this problem when I had first shifted to digital from my film camera Canon EOS 1V HS to Canon EOS 10D.

This is giving a nice look. I haven't been to bandipur for sometime. Need to visit there soon.

Cheers,
Sabyasachi

Good to see you post again. Nice composition given the limitation of using a fixed focal length long lens. Agree with Sabyasachi that you should but a 1-series camera :D

Thanks guys for the comments.

Mrudul - I did do a short trip to Bandipur, missed Tiger and Tigress by whiskers, however had a glimpse of a Leopard late evening. Last week when I visited it poured cats and dogs at Bandipur so sighting was quite dull.

Sabyasachi/Bhargava -Yes I am keen & waiting for March 2012 for 1D X;)

Traveling to Belgaum from 24th Oct'11 to 1st Nov'11, again may be inactive in the forum:(

Here's wishing all at Indiawilds advance "Happy Diwali"

Praveen,
Good to know that you are going for the 1D X. It has fantastic specifications. With the full frame sensor,

The 7D sensor with its 1.6 crop factor along with your 500mm is equivalent to =500*1.6= 800mm
And with the 1.4x attached it used to give you an effective focal length of 500*1.4*1.6
= 700*1.6=1142mm

So better to get the 800mm f5.6 L IS USM lens. That would give you the reach and would be a mouth watering combination.

Cheers,
Sabyasachi
