Jackal at Bharatpur

This jackal came for water at the back yard of hotel in Bharatpur jungle.

Hotel have made this arrangments for them.

Canon 7D, 100-400, 1/500, F8, Focal distance 22 meters, iso 300, WB auto.

My 100-400 image stabliger switch was at 2, That could be the reason for not getting sharp image.

I love the eyes of the jackal and here it comes out well. Too bad that this park doesn't get water from the dam and the poor animals and birds face such problems.

The image stabilser setting 2 is meant for panning. It won't cause any problem with sharpness.

I think in this image you have got the focus right. Please check the image you have uploaded. It might be larger than 300kb. If so, the quality will drop as the software resizes the image. Else, we need to see if there is some other issue.

Oh you did get images with the jackal drinking water. Lovely stare. Agree with Sabyasachi, quite unfortunate that the animals have to face the water problem. Thanks for sharing.

Good that you saw jackals. The eye contact is nice. MAy be you could have tried a vertical image with just the jackal and the tap :)
