Spoted this creature in dense bushes at Bharatpur Bird Century.

Very hard to focus on to it due to dense branches.

canon 7D, 100-400 , 1/250, F5.6, iso 400.

Help finding the ID. I think it is great horned owl.

This is a collared scops owl (otis bakkamoena). Wuld been nice if had included it in full along with the perch and vegetation.

Nice sighting. Its good you got the eyes relatively in clear. What was the focal length used? Agree some more space all around would be good. Thanks for sharing.

Collared Scops Owl - standard fare in Bharatpur. Every year they move on to a different perch. At times it becomes difficult to get a pleasing composition due to the position of the branches. You need to shift to manual focus to get critical focus. Slight movement of branches as well as yourself will result in change in focus if you are using AF. I agree that a loose crop would have been good. Thanks for sharing.

Agree with comments made. I find habitat compositions more pleasing when there is plantation/clutter all around and the subject can't be singled out.
